An Update from Kim

Hi friends!

It's a cool, rainy afternoon here in my hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. Spent the morning running errands and correcting one final blip in our art proofs but I'm happy to say that the record is officially done and currently in the process of being duplicated. I'm so excited for you all to hear the new collection. Todd and I settled on a 12 track record this go round. A little painful of a decision, to be honest. The three songs we left off are so great but we felt like they weren't quite finished yet. So maybe we'll release them next year as a mini project or singles or something. We'll see.

I wanted to give a little background on the opening track to the record which is a song that I wrote called "Confession." Over the last couple of years, I've been reading a lot from the diaries and letters of Christian saints in the west most notably St. Francis, St. Claire, St. Augustine, and St. Teresa of Avila along with some of the teachings of the German theologian/mystic Meister Eckhart and somewhere in that mix I started writing my own confession of sorts. Things I hope for myself, things I aspire towards and an acknowledgement of my own shortcomings. Throw into the mix as well a deep, deep love for George Harrison and John Lennon and their music that sought and envisioned a better, kinder, gentler world and well, here you go:

Oh sweet lord
Come and rescue me
Save me from a fall
From my will and my misery
Break these chains
End the cycles that I’m used to
Show me a path I should walk
To get to you
To get to you

-- "Confession"

Can't wait for you all to hear it. xo kt
